Community Awards 2024

Thank you to the residents who joined us tonight for the Annual Parish Meeting and Community Awards!

MR ROY MILLS was awarded Outstanding Service to the Community for organising the Evergreens Community Group for over 40 years and The Community Smile Award in recognition of being a much loved resident for 87 years, Cllr Philip Martin presented the awards!

MR KALLUM JACKSON was awarded an Achievement by a Young Person for his historical work, for carefully cleaning the war memorial and vases, work with the church and the world war books and running the genealogy page. Chairman Luke Cousin presented the award.

MR DAVID SPRINGETT was awarded Outstanding Service to the Community in recognition of his work for the parish, playing fields, litter wombles, school governor, velo cycle group and his volunteering! Cllr Francis Gent presented the award.

THE LATE MR BILL KITTLE, Mrs Maria Kittle was presented The George Hill award for Sporting Achievement in recognition of Bills 20 years of commitment to the Tennis Club and War Memorial Playing Fields and for supporting sport in the village! He will be missed Cllr Max Eaves presented the award as he had worked closely with Bill and Cllr Sue Astill presented flowers to Maria and her daughter Debbie!
